Harry Levish
Harry Levish, 95, formerly of Brackenridge passed away Wednesday at Fair Winds Manor Nursing Home, Winfield Township.
Born April 9, 1922, in Brackenridge he was a son of the late Joseph & (Evdokia) Levish.
Harry was a lifelong resident of Brackenridge and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church of Tarentum.
Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, fighting in North Africa, Normandy, Italy and Germany.
Harry retired from PPG Paints in Springdale in 1986. He was a member of Brackenridge American Legion, a life member of Pioneer Hose Co., Brackenridge, and a graduate of Har-Brack High school in 1940.
Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing and his camp in Warren County.
He is survived by his children, Gregory J. (Sue) Levish, of Buffalo Township, Paul A. (Marsha) Levish, of New Kensington; twins Joseph M. (Christy) Levish, of Buffalo Township and Mary M. (Mario) Venetos, Belair, Md.; his son-in-law, William McNally, of Plano Texas; also nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a stepbrother, Leo (Betty) Wasilowski of Natrona Heights; and his sister-in-law, Rose Demharter, of Brackenridge.
Along with his parents Mr. Levish was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline J. (Skoda) Levish, who died in 2006; his daughter, Carolyn McNally; two brothers, Max and William Levish; a sister, Alice Samay; and a stepsister Irene Dassonville.
LEVISH — Visitation for Harry Levish, who died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Duster Funeral Home, 347 East 10th Ave, Tarentum. Services by Pioneer Hose Co. will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, also at the funeral home and a Parastas will be recited at 7 p.m.A Panachida will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church with his pastor, the Rev. Wesley M. Mash, officiating.Burial will follow at Mt. Airy Cemetery with military honors.Contributions may be made to Sts.
