Betty E. Wood
Betty E. Wood, 91, of Grove City, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away Monday afternoon at Orchard Manor Nursing and Personal Care Residence, Grove City, after an extended illness.
Born in Mosgrove, Armstrong County, on July 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late N. Cal and Blanche E. Beers Hamilton.
Betty was employed for 10 years in the maintenance department at the former Washington Elementary school in the Moniteau School District.
She was a member of the former Church of the Nazarene in St. Petersburg, Pa.
She was married to George W. Wood on March 5, 1948. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2002.
Betty is survived by two children, her daughter, Elaine (Nicholas) Kolbrick of Mercer, and her son, Frederick G. Wood of Saxonburg; four grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.
She also is survived by her brother, Walter Hamilton of Jacksonville, Fla., and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
WOOD — Friends of Betty E. Wood, who passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire.
