Boy Scout visits Clearfield Township supervisors meeting
Clearfield Township supervisors were pleasantly surprised when they saw a Boy Scout at their meeting Monday, Nov. 13.
Henry McNutt, supervisor chairman of Clearfield Township, said Dylan Thurber, a Boy Scout with Troop 39, attended the meeting to obtain a merit badge. McNutt said he asked Dylan to lead the Pledge of Allegiance to start the meeting, and Dylan stayed for the remainder of the meeting.
Throughout the meeting, the supervisors would explain to Dylan what they were doing and why, McNutt said. At the end of the meeting, the supervisors answered questions from Dylan, and McNutt signed a paper certifying the scout had attended the meeting.
“We explained what we were doing, why,” McNutt said. “He was really attentive and interested in what we were doing.”
