Virtual plans for General Richard Butler Bridge project available to view
Plans for a building project on the General Richard Butler Bridge are available online at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s website.
The purpose of the virtual plans display for this bridge preservation project is to share preliminary information on the project's status, schedule, design and right of way acquisition, according to a news release from PennDOT.
Construction of the project is scheduled for summer 2026. An online presentation outlines and explains the proposed plans and schedule.

The presentation will be available from Nov. 13 to 27.
