Gertrude I. Eyth
Gertrude I. Eyth, 88, of Butler passed away at 4:10 p.m. Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 3, 1923, in Nashua, Minn., to the late Fred P. Eyestone and Susan Aldrich Eyestone.
Mrs. Eyth served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a staff sergeant. She was a seamstress for Montgomery Ward, Point Plaza Fabrics, Penn Cleaners and McCarrens Clothing Store, where she retired from.
Mrs. Eyth is survived by two sons, Michael Montgomery and his wife, Sandy, of Slippery Rock, and Eric R. Montgomery and his wife, Sandy, of Butler; two daughters, Deborah Grolemund and her husband, James, of Butler and Jennifer Carrabba and her husband, John, of Butler; five stepchildren; five grandchildren, Joshua Grolemund, Heather Runtas, Sean Montgomery, Michael John Carrabba, and Braiden Neff; four great-grandchildren, Austan and Lyla Runtas, and Ryan and Samantha Montgomery; one sister, Jeannette Myers of Georgetown, Ohio; two brothers, Robert Eyestone and his wife Joan of Perham, Minn., Joseph Eyestone and his wife, Delores, of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Eyth, who passed away Aug. 26, 1988; one brother; and one sister.
