McCarrier 60th anniversary
Bill and Irene McCarrier of Butler plan to have a family dinner next year to mark 60 years of marriage.
McCarrier married the former Irene Trabert on Dec. 30, 1960, in Grove City by the Rev. Henry Rogers.
The McCarriers have three children, all of Butler: William (Ruth) McCarrier Jr., the late Brian (Deanna) McCarrier and John (Karen) McCarrier.
They also have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Bill McCarrier was a teacher at Moniteau High School, was founder and CEO of Interstate Pipe and Supply Co. and was a Butler County commissioner for eight years.
He has been a member, usher and Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church, a Slippery Rock University trustee, member of the board of directors of the Community Development Corp. of Butler County, served on many volunteer boards and had been active in Masonic organizations and the Shriners.
Irene worked at Mellon Bank and Interstate Pipe and Supply Co. She has been a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a choir member. Irene was active in the Butler Christian Women’s Club and is a volunteer at Butler Memorial Hospital.
