Sherman 50th anniversary
Gary and Peggy Sherman of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with an Oct. 17, 2020, family dinner hosted by their daughter and family with help from aunts and uncles. The dinner had a Hawaiian theme and was held at the home of a sister and brother-in-law.
Sherman married the former Margaret G. Thoma on Oct. 3, 1970, at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center.
They have one child, Jamie L. (Scott) Suhan of Butler
They also have two grandchildren.
Sherman retired in January 2002 after 32 years at Armco Steel in Butler. He currently drives a school bus for Valley Lines in the Butler Area School District.
Mrs. Sherman retired in 2018 after 16 years as a school bus driver for Valley Lines. She was previously employed at Moonlight Mushrooms in Worthington for 17 years and was a former bookkeeper at DuBrook Inc., Butler.
