State Police again waive college credit requirements
The Pennsylvania State Police announced it has opened a new cadet application cycle with no college credit requirement for those seeking careers as state troopers.
At the direction of Gov. Shapiro, the PSP suspended the educational requirement of 60 college credits on Aug. 28, when it opened a two-month hiring cycle that resulted in 1,545 eligible cadet applications.
“We streamlined the process for those who want to serve as a state trooper, and we’re pleased to see people taking advantage of this opportunity,” Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, said.
Applications for the current cycle remain open through Jan. 31, 2024.
