Michele Mercatell
Michele M. Mercatell, 52, of Tionesta, formerly of Erie, died Sept. 18 as a result of injuries she sustained in a motorcycle accident while vacationing with her husband, Joseph V. Mercatell, in Jacksonville, Fla. Her husband also succumbed to the accident.
She was born May 25, 1958, in Erie, a daughter of Kenneth L. Boyles who survives in Erie and the late Patricia L. (Bukowski) Boyles.
She was employed by the State Correctional Institution (SCI Forest) of Marienville as a corrections officer. She had previously been employed by Forest County as a secretary in the District Justice office in Tionesta.
On Nov. 23, 1989, in South Carolina she married Joseph V. Mercatell.
Michele and her husband loved dearly the fun and joys the motorcycle lifestyle offered. They both had many close friends as a result of their passion for motorcycles. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved animals, enjoyed gardening, flowers and photography.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons, Anthony J. "Tony" Mercatell of Adrian, Pa., and Joseph Michael Mercatell, at home and enlisted in the National Guard; a daughter, Kelly Buchinski and her husband, Mike, of Saltsburg, Pa.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Kenneth M. Boyles of Erie and William P. Boyles and his wife, Kelly Hudy, of Cary, N.C., and many nieces and nephews.
<B>MERCATELL</B> — A private blessing service for Michele M. Mercatell, who died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, will be held with Father David L. Poulson of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church officiating. Friends are welcome to attend an informal celebration of life gathering for the Mercatell's at the West Hickory Community Center in West Hickory, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 11:30 a.m. where a luncheon will be provided.Arrangements are under the direction of the <B>Norman J.
