Paving for Portersville Bridge replacement begins this week
The Portersville Bridge replacement project, which began in May, will enter its next phase this week, as vehicular traffic is gradually shifted onto East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township.
From Monday, Nov. 6, through Friday, Nov. 10, construction crews will begin work on asphalt paving as part of the replacement of the current bridge carrying East Portersville Road, also known as Route 488, over Interstate 79.
There will be short-term traffic control in place between Route 19 and Badger Hill Road to allow for the construction of a shoulder along East Portersville Road.
J.F. Shea Construction is the contractor assigned to this project, which is expected to finish in June 2024.
