College notes
CADEN TRAGGAI (Knoch) won the 1,000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle for the Penn State Altoona men’s swim team in a 139-122 victory over Saint Vincent. His times were 10 minutes, 12.02 seconds and 4:55.03, respectively.
TIM PATTERSON (Butler), a senior men’s cross country runner at Saint Vincent, finished third overall in a 120-runner field at the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championships. His time was 26 minutes, 10 seconds on the 8-kilometer course and landed him a first team all-conference spot.
ETHAN WYMER (Knoch), also a Saint Vincent men’s cross country runner, placed seventh in the PAC meet with a time of 26:30. He made first team all-conference as well.
DAVID BOCCI (Butler) a member of Clarion’s men’s swim team, won the 100-yard butterfly in 51.07 seconds in a 196-12 dual meet victory over Allegheny. He also swam a leg of the winning 200 free relay.
Joe DeLUCA (Mars) carried 16 times for 50 yards in Grove City’s 56-14 football win over Bethany. The win clinched the first-ever NCAA Division III playoff berth for the Wolverines (9-0).
SCOTT FRASER (Knoch) caught four passes for 102 yards in Grove City’s football win over Bethany.
ANNA DeGRAAF (Seneca Valley) had five kills and three blocks in Grove City’s 3-0 women’s volleyball loss at Chatham.
GABBY LUCAS (Butler) had 10 digs in Grove City’s volleyball loss at Chatham.
LAUREN LAMPUS (Freeport) tallied 13 kills, five digs and three blocks in Westminster’s 3-1 volleyball win over Wells.
MICHAEL PHILLIPS (Knoch), a member of Westminster’s men’s swim team, placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in a dual meet win over Washington & Jefferson. His time was 2 minutes, 23.66 seconds.
ANNABELLE TURNER (Butler) swam a leg of the Westminster women’s swim team’s winning 400 freestyle relay against Washington & Jefferson. She also finished second in the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly in the Titans’ 184-100 victory.
SAGE VAVRO (Butler), a freshman on the Youngstown State men’s cross country team, placed ninth overall in 24 minutes, 36 seconds to help the Penguins win the team title at the Horizon League Championships.
CJ SINGLETON (Butler), a freshman on the Notre Dame men’s cross country team, placed 19th overall with a time of 23 minutes, 42 seconds at the ACC Championships in Tallahassee, Fla.
BRETT BRADY (Butler), a senior graduate student on the University of Tennessee men’s cross country team, placed 40th in 24 minutes, 36 seconds at the SEC Championships in Columbia, S.C.
