James LeRoy Reed
James LeRoy Reed, 86, of Fenelton passed away at 3:20 p.m. Monday at Newhaven Court at Clearview.
He was born on March 31, 1927, in Fenelton to the late James Henry Reed Sr. and Sara (Nickolas) Reed.
Mr. Reed was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
He worked as a truck driver for Purvis Brothers in Butler, retiring in 1990. He also enjoyed working with his horses and hunting with his grandchildren.
Mr. Reed is survived by his two sons, Gary Reed and his wife, Monica, and James H. Reed and his wife, Tracy, both of Fenelton; his daughter, Tammy Ruediger and her husband, Ronald, of Fenelton; his six grandchildren, Chad and Ryan Ruediger, Michelle Osterried and her husband, Brian, Sara and Travis Reed and James Reed Jr.; his son-in-law, Shahram Khatibi of Fenelton; his three sisters, Esther Miller of Florida, Jane Stephens and her husband, Robert, of Fenelton and Jean Boyde of Ambridge, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice L. Reed, who he married on June 7, 1952, and who passed away on Oct. 15, 2001; his daughter, Diana Khatibi; and his sister, Ruth Holmes.
REED — The friends of James LeRoy Reed, who passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Jenks of the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church officiating.
