Gardner

Evelyn Lucille Gardner, 99, of Temple, Texas, passed peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023.

Born in Butler, on Jan. 31, 1924, she was the daughter of George B. and Salome (Shaffer) Davidson. A graduate of Butler High School, she worked at Butler Armco prior to her marriage. She married Earl E. Gardner, on June 26, 1943. A loving and devoted mother, she enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing and traveling.

She is survived by her three children, George H. (Sandra) Gardner of Butler, Larry E. (Faye) Gardner of Tempe, Ariz. and daughter, Joyce of Temple, Texas; a number of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dog, Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and four brothers, George B. Davidson, Richard D. Davidson, William R. Davidson and Robert A. Davidson.

GARDNER — A private graveside memorial for Evelyn Lucille Gardner, who died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, will be conducted by the Rev. Leigh Benish, Hill United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at North Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home in Butler and ABC Funeral Home in Austin, Texas.
