Michael G. McClelland, 71, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 21, 1952, in Butler, he was the son of the late Guy and Bette (Sweesy) McClelland.

Mike, affectionately known as “Jolly Mike” to his friends, had a great sense of humor. Mike worked for the Teamsters union and previously as a forestry firefighter on a helitack crew. Mike had many interests and hobbies. He was a winemaker, an avid outdoorsman, along with nature photographer and videographer. He loved rock music and played harmonica and guitar. In his younger years, he attended St. Fidelis Seminary. Mike also enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his fiancée, Jan Myers; Jan’s children, Emily (Jon) Schadel, Alysa (Seth) Roush and Adam Myers; six grandchildren, Tyler and Lilly Schadel, and Eloise, Isabelle, Charlie and Felicity Roush; his sisters, Pat (Bud) Kellerman, Kim (James) Pfennigwerth and Lynn McClelland; his nieces and nephews, Laurie (Marc) Barto, Michele (Scott) Branka, Jason (Rebecca), Eric (Hasti) and Joshua (Jenn) Pfennigwerth and Katie (Patrick) Saldibar; and many close friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his nephew, Matthew Kellerman.

MCCLELLAND — A memorial service for Michael G. McClelland, who died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
