Harold Ernest Warcup
Harold Ernest Warcup, 87, Slippery Rock, Worth Township, passed away at Autumn Grove in Harrisville at 8:15 a.m. Sunday.
He was born in Littleton, N.H., on April 4, 1925, to Harry Warcup and Hazel Dow.
He married Dorothy Jayne Shaner on July 26, 1951. They recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Cpl. Warcup served in different locations including Japan and the Philippines. He later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was aboard the USS Bexar.
He was a Protestant.
He worked for Agway for more than 35 years at various locations including Mahoning Town, New Wilmington, Butler, Mars and Slippery Rock.
He was a member of the Slippery Rock Sportsmen's Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and his wife loved their labs and had raised Pomeranians.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy J. Warcup at home in Slippery Rock; one daughter, Kathy S. Warcup of Slippery Rock; one son, H. Keith and his wife, Nancy “Sis,” Warcup of Slippery Rock; and two sisters, Ruth Brooks of Littleton, N.H., and Gladys Stevens of Littleton, N.H. Also surviving are a grandson, Brian Keith Warcup of Edison, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Charlotte Warcup; and a stepmother, Lavina.
WARCUP — Services for Harold Ernest Warcup, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, will be at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Bob Huber, pastor of the North Christian Church, Butler, officiating.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The interment will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery, Worth Township.Memorial contributions can be made to the Slippery Rock Rescue Team, P.O. Box 117, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
