Carnegie Mellon University head swimming and diving coach David Belowich of Butler was named 2004 NCAA Men's Coach of the Year at the completion of the NCAA Championships this past weekend in St. Peter's, Mo.

Under Belowich's tutelage, the Tartans claimed their highest place ever at nationals, finishing in third place with 307 points. Kenyon (Oh.) College won its 25th straight national title with 678.5 points and Emory (Ga.) was second.
