The Butler VA has partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration to host a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28.

Take Back Day will offer free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at more than 4,000 local drop-off locations nationwide. The Butler VA event is open to the public and will take place at the New Castle Road Campus parking lot 18, 325 New Castle Road, Butler.

Tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs will be collected.

Collection sites will not accept syringes or illicit drugs devices with sharp points or edges that can puncture or cut skin.

Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The cap must be tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
