Charles E. Moody Jr., 64, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away due to health complications on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at his home.

He was born April 1, 1959, in Butler. He was the son of the late Charles E. Moody Sr. and Helen Valjean (Weist) Moody.

He graduated from Butler High School and then went on to attend Slippery Rock College. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and was a proud Lambda Chi Alpha Lambda Xi Zeta brother. He worked for George V. Hamilton Inc., out of McKees Rocks, for over 30 years before moving to Florida.

Chuck loved to golf, and shortly after college got his pro card and won the Armco Country Club members club championship. He continued his love and passion for golf his entire life. He was also an avid distance runner and completed 12 marathons.

Chuck had a huge heart and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. Surviving are his wife, Lori Moody; sister, Susan Williams; brother, Larry Moody; daughter, Megan Moody; son, Charles (Stephanie) Moody; and grandchildren, Riley Cook, Sophia Moody, Elena Moody and Adelyn Moody.

MOODY — Per his wishes, there will be no memorial service for Charles E. Moody Jr., who died Friday, Oct. 13, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Slippery Rock Golf Club and Events Center (formerly known as Armco Country Club) in Slippery Rock, in Chuck’s memory.
