Virginia E. (Moore) Porter
Virginia E. (Moore) Porter, 94, of Portersville passed away Monday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Born March 30, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Clarence D. Moore and Ethel Waneata Egbert Moore.
She was married for 72 years to Ralph J. Porter, who passed away March 24, 2010.
Virginia graduated from Muddy Creek Township and Portersville Borough Joint Schools in 1937. She was affiliated with the Portersville Bible Church.
She was a former tax collector for Muddy Creek Township.
She enjoyed gardening and homemaking, but most of all she enjoyed being a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
Survivors include a son, Ralph (Leona) Porter of Portersville; two grandchildren, LaDawn VanKirk and Jason Porter, both of Portersville; four great-grandchildren, Chris (Debbie) Sharon of New York, and Brian Sharon, Jordan (Landon) Maslyn and Aaron Hibler, all of California.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Waneata (VanKirk) Rowlands in August 2010 and her granddaughter, Tammy (VanKirk) Sharon in December 2010. Two brothers, Samuel and Frank Moore; a sister, Jean (Clair) Miller; and her stepmother, Ellen Ellefson Moore, also preceded Virginia in death.
PORTER — Visitation for Virginia E. (Moore) Porter, who passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday at theMarshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. The Rev.
