Anne Stehle Hope

Anne Stehle Hope of New Freedom, York County, formerly of Butler, passed away on Dec. 19 at her home. She was 87.

Mrs. Hope was born in Butler on March 8, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Olive Nancy (Atwell) Stehle. She was the wife of the late George K. Hope.

She was a graduate of Butler High School.

Mrs. Hope moved to New Freedom eight years ago after living in Hilton Head, S.C., for more than 20 years.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Stehle, and a sister, Mary Rockenstein.

Mrs. Hope is survived by her children, James A. Hope II and his wife, Barbara, of Baltimore, Md., Anne H. Grubb and her husband, Robert, of Greenville, S.C., and Keith M. Hope and his wife, Katharine, of Parkton, Md.; eight grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Stehle of Butler; and a sister, Catherine Bullen of Silver Spring, Md.
