Abuse prevention sessions slatedAs part of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Butler YMCA will offer two free Steward of Children training sessions:6 to 8 p.m. April 27 at the YMCA, 339 N. Washington St.6 to 8 p.m. April 29, Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA, 2001 Ehrman Road, Cranberry Township.The sessions will use survivor stories, expert insight and facilitated discussion to help people prevent child sexual abuse and to recognize and react responsibly.The training is free. Gently Used Shop sets fashion showZELIENOPLE — Lutheran SeniorLife Passavant Community’s Gently Used Shop will present a fashion show from 1 to 3 p.m. April 29 in Passavant’s Scholl Conference Center in the Abundant Life Center, 401 S. Main St.Sizes will range from tall to small. At the end of the show, customers will be able to buy off the rack at the door. Alameda Camp registration openButler County Parks and Recreation Department will promote “Naturally Fun” for Camp Alameda from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 8 to Aug. 21.Education, nature, safety and fun will be the guidelines for this activity-based day camp for children ages 5 to 16. Camp sessions will be one week long.Camp Alameda will allow free early drop off beginning at 7 a.m. and late pick up will end at 5:30 p.m.Campers will be divided for age-appropriate activities such as games, arts and crafts, and swimming.
