Shearer 60th anniversary
James and Carol Shearer, of Evans City, celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner on Sept. 30 at the Log Cabin Inn in Harmony.
Shearer married the former Carol A. Domhoff on Sept. 28, 1963, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Connoquenessing.
They have three children, Laura Miller of Evans City, Judith Luther of Bluffton, S.C., and Sharon McGinnis of Greenville, Mercer County.
They also have four grandchildren.
Shearer is retired from the food sales industry.
He is active on the church council, cemetery board and choir at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and enjoys traveling to Myrtle Beach and the Western national parks.
Mrs. Shearer retired from retail grocery. She enjoys traveling and gardening.
The Shearers are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Connoquenessing.
