College notes

JUSTIN REDILLA (Seneca Valley), a member of Westminster’s men’s cross country team, finished 45th at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational with a time of 30 minutes, 19.5 seconds.

LEXI CHAPPEL (Butler), a women’s tennis player at Grove City, won her match at No. 2 singles against Washington & Jefferson. Chappel defeated Riley Moore 6-0, 6-1, and the Wolverines won the overall match, 8-1. Chappell also teamed with Peyton Joines to win at No. 2 doubles.

ALAYNA CHIZMAR (Mars) had a career-high four blocks for Slippery Rock’s women’s volleyball team in The Rock’s 3-0 loss at Wheeling.

ASHLEY REA (Seneca Valley) scored a goal and tied her career-high of six shots on goal as Slippery Rock’s women’s soccer team defeated Seton Hill, 2-0.

BREANA REYNOLDS (Seneca Valley) tallied four kills in Penn State Behrend’s 3-2 women’s volleyball win over Mount Aloysius.

ANNA DeGRAAF (Seneca Valley) had seven kills and three blocks for the Grove City women’s volleyball team in the Wolverines’ 3-0 loss to Allegheny. GABBY LUCAS (Butler) served two aces in the match.

TORI STEVENSON (Butler) assisted on the game-winning goal as Grove City’s women’s soccer team edged Geneva, 2-1.

NATALIE MERRICK (Cranberry Twp./Eden Christian) scored her first goal of the season for Grove City in that soccer win.

COURTNEY LISMAN (Mars) made two saves as goalkeeper for Grove City to record her 28th career win, tying for fourth place on GCC’s all-time win list.

SCOTT FRASER (Knoch) caught six passes for 149 yards — including a 62-yard touchdown for Grove City’s first score — as the Wolverines football team (6-0) defeated Geneva, 48-21.
