HARRISBURG — New and expanding opportunities for targeting fishers and bobcats highlight this year's hunting and trapping seasons.

After 10 bobcat harvests tempered by specific numbers of permits, the Game Commission established a three-week bobcat season (Dec. 18-Jan. 8 for hunting, and Dec. 18-Jan. 9 for trapping) that allows licensed participants to buy a permit to harvest a bobcat in certain Wildlife Management Units.

A six-day season (Dec. 18-23) to allow trappers to buy a permit to harvest one fisher also was created.
