Roy E. Johnson Jr.

Roy E. Johnson Jr., 86, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Connoquenessing, passed away Tuesday after a brief illness on at the Vista Hospice Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.

He was the beloved husband of 66 years to the love of his life, Mary “Joan” (Rea) Johnson.

Born Oct. 20, 1928, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Hazel Johnson Sr.

Roy was a 40-year employee of Heckett Engineering in Butler, where he was the manager of the purchasing department. He was also a member of the Connoquenessing United Methodist Church. He enjoyed many summers in East Brady with his camp and boat until moving to Boynton Beach.

Roy leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Susan (Harry) Smith of Maryland; his two sons, Jeffrey (Candace) Johnson of Butler and Steven Johnson of Delray Beach, Fla.; his three grandchildren, Matthew (Michele) Smith of Baltimore; Brandi (Eric) Maser of Renfrew and Kelly (Chris) Dietrich of Butler; and one great-granddaughter, Lily Joann Maser.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Johnson.

JOHNSON — Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Rd, Renfrew.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kurt A.
