William “Bill” A. Durschlag
William “Bill” A. Durschlag, 68, of Tidal, Pa., formerly of Butler, passed away Saturday at his home.
He was born Jan. 16, 1949, the son of William C. and Thelma Thompson Durschlag.
Bill was raised in Harrisville and lived in Butler for many years before making Tidal his home 25 years ago.
Bill honorably served in the military during the Vietnam War and was self-employed in financial services for 40 years.
Bill was a member of Tidal Presbyterian Church and was very involved in the congregation. Hunting and fishing were some of his favorite hobbies and he could often be found reading or cooking delicious food for family and friends. Bill loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sports games.
He will be remembered with love by his wife, Kathy E. Shoup Durschlag; his stepson, Alan Clouse, and his wife, Shannon, of Tidal; and his grandchildren, Claire, Mason and Owen Clouse.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
DURSCHLAG — The family of William “Bill” A. Durschlag, who died Saturday, March 4, 2017, will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sarah Heppenstall officiating.Military services will be performed at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 454 and the VFW Post 7132.
