Thomas Edward Kelly

Thomas Edward Kelly, 69, of Butler passed away on Saturday at VA Butler Healthcare.

He was born Oct. 31, 1948, in Sewickley, and was the son of the late Norbert Kelly and the late Helen Hughes Williams Kelly.

Thomas worked as a salesman for Logan Candy Co., retiring in 2016.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on the altar guild and was a greeter.

Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam.

In recovery for 40 years with the help of God, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Jan Stirling Kelly, whom he married on June 28, 1986; two stepdaughters who he loved dearly, Amber Holt and her husband, Tim, of Butler, Layne Norris and her significant other, Marc Mares, of Cabot; one brother, Ben Post of Louisville, Ky.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Post; and a brother, Donald Kelly.
