John Nagy

John Henry Nagy, 73, of Butler died Tuesday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born Nov. 8, 1939, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Koka) Nagy.

John was a retired co-manager for Friedmans in Butler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Surviving are his wife, Eva A. Nagy, who he married May 13, 1977; his four children, Diana “Dee” and Sal Ramirez, Robert (Melissa) Nagy, Karen (Jim) Leary and Raymond (Jayne) Paganelli, all of Butler; his faithful companion, Willy; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah Ewing of California and Jo Ann Isherwood of Saxonburg; a sister-in-law, Anna Nagy of Butler, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Frank, Lewis and Andy.

NAGY — Friends of John Henry Nagy, who died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Brian Leary will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.A benefit to celebrate John's life will take place Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the East Butler Fire Hall that will help his family with medical expenses incurred.
