‘Salute to Service Night’ planned at Mars Area game

Mars Area High School will hold a “Salute to Service Night” at the Planets’ Homecoming football game against the Highlands Golden Rams at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at Mars Athletic Complex.

Active and former members of the military and first responders will receive free admission to the game with valid identification. Adams Area Fire District will fly the American flag over the stadium, and members of Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC will present the colors.

Prior to the start of the game, the district will recognize senior Reva Kalbhor, who was named a 2022-23 U.S. Air Force JROTC Regional Cadet of the Year (Region 2) and an AFA Cadet Leadership Award winner. Servicemen, women and veterans in attendance will be recognized during the first and second quarters.

In addition, the football team will wear special camouflage uniforms and the student section will have a “camo” theme with “American” towels.
