Raymond Vollmer, 69, of Butler passed away Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 8, 1944, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John T. and Margaret M. Sofley Vollmer.

He was the owner of Ray's Auto and Repair for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Bulford Vollmer; one son, Brian Chapman; one daughter, Laura Vollmer; two grandchildren, Zachery White and Alisha White and her partner, Chris Whipkey; one great-granddaughter, Kallie White-Whipkey; four brothers and two sisters, Rosemary (Ralph) Questiaux of Butler, William (Terri) Vollmer of Butler, John Vollmer of Iowa, Barbara (Edward) Macurdy of Butler, James (Mary Kay) Vollmer of Butler and Robert Vollmer of Renfrew; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Vollmer.

VOLLMER — Friends of Raymond Vollmer, who died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. A blessing service will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Herman.In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
