Racist rant video quickly goes viral
ADAMS TWP — A racist, profanity-laced tirade at the “rock to block” protest on Dec. 21 resulted in the man’s termination from a Wexford company.
John Pisone showed up at the small protest at the entrance to the Geyer natural gas well drilling site off Route 228 and berated the protesters, most of whom were senior citizens sitting in rocking chairs.
He called the protesters “hippies” and accused them of not working and wasting his tax dollars.
Pisone also made racist comments to a black man operating a video camera.
Aside from asking Pisone to leave once he used a racial slur, neither the protesters nor the cameraman engaged him in a debate regarding his views.
The incident lasted just more than three minutes.
Returning to his pickup truck, Pisone told the mother of a young child to “teach her good morals.”
Pisone’s employer, MMC Land Management of Wexford, issued a statement on Tuesday on the company Facebook page saying it was “disgusted” to learn of his rant and had fired him.
Neither Pisone nor MMC Land Management have any connection to that gas well site.
The cameraman’s video of the event went viral, getting more than 135,000 views on Youtube.com as of Wednesday morning.
It is not known where Pisone lives, but he listed himself as a Kiski High School graduate on his Facebook page. His page has been deleted.
