Michael L. 'Mike' Link

Michael L. “Mike” Link, 55, of Boyers, near Eau Claire, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Monday at his home of natural causes.

Born in Butler on Dec. 17, 1958, he was the son of the late Victor H. and Genevieve Scott Link.

At the age of 15, Mike began working for the former J.M. Beatty Automotive in Eau Claire during his high school days. Following graduation from Moniteau High School, he began his auto mechanic career with Beatty and was in employment with Automotive Excellence in Eau Claire until the day of his death. He had attended many required Chrysler (Mopar) training sessions to be a certified mechanic on Mopar vehicles.

While Mike enjoyed gardening at his home, his true hobby was working with and owning hot rods. Even as a hobby, he enjoyed assisting people with mechanical problems with vehicles of any kind.

He is survived by his sister, Selva Link, with whom he lived; his sister, Darlene (Chuck) Jones of Mercer; his two brothers, John (Phyllis) Link of Parker, near Eau Claire, and Norman (Tracy) Link of Boyers; and his 10 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Greenawalt, and his nephew, Herbert Link.

Link — The friends of Michael L. “Mike” Link, who passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.
