GENEVA, Ohio — Butler graduate and St. Bonaventure freshman swimmer Matt Goettler placed fifth in the 100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke at last weekend's Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
St. Bonaventure won the conference title for the second consecutive year.
Goettler's time of 55.39 seconds in the 100 breast made the “B” NCAA cut. He swam the 200 breast in 2:01.44.
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University junior basketball forward D'Asia Chambers has been named PSAC West Female Athlete of the Week.Chambers scored 31 points and grabbed nine rebounds in The Rock's 62-60 win at Seton Hill. She scored 23 points and snared eight rebounds in an 82-64 loss to Edinboro.
HARMONY — Pittsburgh Pirate second baseman and Pine-Richland graduate Neil Walker has announced his Neil Walker Baseball ProCamp will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 30 at Seneca Valley High School.Walker will be on-site to direct the event and will be joined by prep and college coaches from the area. ALTOONA — Butler graduate Brea Suchonic, a freshman on the Penn State-Altoona bowling team, shot a 181 and averaged 174.5 in the Mountain Lions’ two wins over Mount Aloysius Sunday.PSU-Altoona finished the season at 34-34. its best winning percentage and win total in the five-year history of the program.
