Ann S. Novak
Ann S. Novak, 93, of Newhaven Court, formerly of Bellefield Drive in Butler, died early today at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 5, 1916, in Lyndora, a daughter of the late Andy and Nellie O'Shurak Spinder.
She was a 1935 graduate of Butler High School and was a homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler and also was a member of the Ladies Guild at her church. She belonged to the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and was formerly a member of the American Bowling League at the Knights of Columbus.
Her husband, Edward J. Novak, who she married Aug. 3, 1941, preceded her in death Feb. 21, 1998. A brother and a sister also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son and his wife, Richard E. and Sharon Novak of Wilmington, N.C.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Julie Novak of Lake Mary, Fla., Mellisa and Steve Eldredge of Berwyn, Pa., and Matthew Novak of Durham, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Christopher Novak; a sister, Mrs. Helen Fedokovitz of Lyndora; and three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Stella Novak of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Helen Lawrence and Mrs. Julie Spinder, both of Butler. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
<B>NOVAK </B> Friends of Ann S. Novak, who died Tuesday, April 15, 2009, will be received from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home, </B>201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler with Father James Salberg, pastor, officiating. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian Mothers/Ladies Guild of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N.
