Herman J. 'Sini' Lankewicz

Herman J. “Sini” Lankewicz, 86, of Butler passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler, Dec. 9, 1925, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine Lankewicz.

He was retired from Pullman Standard, where he was employed for 35 years.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, the VFW Post 249, and the Lyndora American Legion Post 778.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Irene Bobby of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Kowal Sinew Lankewicz, who passed away in 2007, four sisters and two brothers.

LANKEWICZ — Friends of Herman J. “Sini” Lankewicz, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.Members of the St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at the church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to recite the rosary.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
