Sara J. Bowser
Sara J. “Sally” Bowser, 70, of Butler passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born April 30, 1945, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Eleanor Beneigh Bowser.
She worked in the personnel department for the Pennsylvania State Parks, retiring after 30 years of service.
She had volunteered for the Butler Little Theatre as a producer for over 40 years and also was with the Musical Theatre Guild for over 40 years. She was a past deputy grand regent of The Women of the Moose and a member of the Lyndora All Girls Drum and Bugle Corp.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She enjoyed reading and being with her nieces and nephews.
Surviving are six brothers, Jim Bowser of Butler, David (Naomi) Bowser of Mercer, Robert (Diane) Bowser of Slippery Rock, Bill Bowser of Butler, Doug (Margie) Bowser of Evans City and Frank Bowser of San Diego, Calif.; one sister Donna Bowser; one brother-in-law, Chuck Blair; one aunt, Marian Beneigh, all of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Blair.
BOWSER — Friends of Sara J. “Sally” Bowser, who died Sunday, May 3, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Geibel Funeral Home 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. Butler. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive Butler, PA. 16001.
