Doris M. Hrip

Doris M. Hrip, 87, of Lyndora, passed away Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 30, 1929, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Agnes Shaub Kirk.

She was a homemaker and was a member of St. John Byzantine Church in Lyndora.

She enjoyed taking bus trips to the casinos as well as reading. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Peter Hrip, whom she married Sept. 18, 1943; her daughter, Sharon (Gerald) Allen, of Prospect; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; her brother, Floyd (Lola) Kirk, of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Peter, Michael and Paul; one grandson; one sister; and one brother.

HRIP — Friends of Doris M. Hrip, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A panachida service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

A parastas service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Butler.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St. Butler, PA 16001.
