Carl Reid Longwell
Carl Reid Longwell, 94, of Butler passed away on Sunday.
He was born June 16, 1922, in Butler to the late Carl H. Longwell and the late Ellen Reid Longwell.
Reid was the owner of the former Carlon Chemical Company, Murrysville. He also worked as an insurance broker.
Reid served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.
He was Presbyterian by faith.
Reid is survived by his son Robert R. (Laurie) Longwell of Mechanicsburg; three daughters, Marlyn Donelson of Butler, Donna Kapner of Houston, Texas, and Susan (Donald) Elko of Flanders, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
LONGWELL — A graveside service for Carl Reid Longwell, who died Sunday, June 11, 2017, will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler.Officers and members of American Legion Post 117 Butler, American Legion Post 778 Lyndora and VFW Post 249 Butler will be conducting military honors.Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Butler.Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
