Paul Kosar

Paul Kosar, 87, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Lyndora on July 5, 1930, he was a son of the late Joseph and Fannie Malec Kosar.

He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, retiring in 1993. In addition, he was a delivery driver for NAPA Auto Parts for 22 years, and he was formerly employed at Pullman Standard.

Paul was an avid New York Yankee fan.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War.

He was member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.

He is survived by one son, Gerald P. Kosar of Butler; two daughters, Lori L. Bark and her husband, Greg, of Zelienople and Paula J. Kosar of Butler; one brother, Steve Kosar and his wife, Elsie, of Butler; one sister, Mary Turk of Butler; and two grandchildren, Megan Kosar of Butler and Alex Bark of Zelienople.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, June M. Leroy Kosar, who died June 10, 2011; five brothers; and three sisters.

KOSAR — Friends of Paul Kosar, who died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Michael Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the American Legion Post 778, the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 117.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
