Vernon “Jerry” L. Deal
Vernon “Jerry” L. Deal, 73, of Lyndora passed away on Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Butler. He was the son of the late George S. Deal and the late Violet Thompson Deal.
Jerry worked as a welder for PennDOT for 20 years before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Slippery Rock Baptist Church.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Goldie M. Lantz Deal, whom he married Sept. 3, 1993; two sons, Michael G. Deal of Butler, and Miah M. Sykes of California; one daughter, Sara “Sally” G. Deal of Butler; one brother, George S. Deal of Butler; one sister, Shirley Shook of Butler; four grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristen Lantz; and eight siblings.
DEAL — Friends of Vernon “Jerry” L. Deal, who died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, will be received from 1 until 5 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
