GC grad McFeaters golfing at nationalsGETTYSBURG — Grove City High School graduate Fontaine McFeaters, a sophomore on the Gettysburg College women's golf team, will be competing with her team at the NCAA Division III Championship this week in Houston, Texas.Gettysburg is six-time defending Centennial Conference champion. McFeaters is one of five players representing the team at nationals, which run today through Friday.

SRU's Tucker signed after rookie tryoutGREEN BAY, Wisc. — The Green Bay Packers have officially signed Slippery Rock University offensive tackle Cory Tucker to their 90-man roster.Tucker was one of four undrafted free agents signed by the team following last weekend's rookie orientation. The Packers had 27 players participate on a tryout basis over the weekend.Tucker also earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from SRU last weekend.

Duke’s Krzyzewski has hernia surgeryDURHAM, N.C. — Duke says men’s basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has had hernia surgery.The Hall of Fame coach underwent inguinal hernia repair surgery Monday at Duke University Hospital.Krzyzewski says he will be in “great physical condition” when he coaches the U.S. national team in the Olympics this summer.It’s the second procedure for the 69-year-old coach this offseason. He previously underwent left knee replacement surgery in early April.

U.S. hockey falls to Finland, 3-2ST. PETERSBURG, Russia — Finland handed the United States its second loss by 3-2 at the world ice hockey championship on Monday.Finland’s third win from three matches kept pace with Canada, which routed Belarus 8-0 with seven different players scoring.
