Michael J. Kerr

Michael J. Kerr, 31, of High Street, Petrolia, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at his home of natural causes.

Michael was born Nov. 29, 1983, in Kittanning. He was the son of Rita M. (Ashbaugh) Huff and the late Jeffrey Kerr.

Mike enjoyed dirt bikes, fishing, the outdoors, playing the guitar and rock music. He was a 2002 graduate of Kittanning High School and was a member of the Kittanning Men's Club. Mike was most recently employed as a union drywaller.

Michael is survived by his mother and stepfather, Rita M. and Thomas Huff III of Chicora; his longtime companion and best friend, Amber Double of Petrolia; his son, Landen, and his daughter, Laikynn, both of Petrolia; two brothers, Philip Ashbaugh of Chicora and Thomas “Tommy” Huff IV of Butler; three sisters, Shauna Ashbaugh of Minerva, Ohio, Tiffany Huff of Butler and Kristen Kerr of Kittanning; his maternal grandmother, Johanna Everetts of Chicora; his paternal stepgrandparents, Thomas and Joy Huff of Chicora; and his stepmother, Kim Kerr of Kittanning.

Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Lois Kerr, and his uncle, Terry Kerr.

Kerr, who died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hile Funeral Home, 128 Main St., Karns City.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
