Donald McCoy Sr.

Donald McCoy Sr., 63, of Butler passed away Wednesday.

He was born March 1, 1953, in Pittsburgh, to the late James H. McCoy and the late Lois A. Bernstein.

Don served in the U.S. Army and was a former truck driver. Don was a lifelong volunteer firefighter and longtime member and captain of the Lick Hill Community VFC. He loved hunting whitetail deer with his son.

Don is survived by his companion, Vicki Matthews of Butler; one son, Donald J. (Sara) McCoy Jr. of Butler; one daughter, Barbara A. Stokes of Clarion; 15 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl L. Norman of Evans City; one niece; and three nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia A. Bordt.

MCCOY — Friends of Donald McCoy Sr., who died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chance Kelosky, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a monetary donation be made to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc. to go toward funeral expenses.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
