John A. "Jack" Lindberg, 77, of Grove City, formerly of Slippery Rock, died at 3:07 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 26, 1929, in McKeesport, he was a son of Augustus "Gus" and Mary Myrtle Johnson Lindberg.

In 1982, he retired from the National Duquesne Works in McKeesport, where he was a draftsman and boilermaker for 29 years.

He was a Lutheran.

Mr. Lindberg, a graduate of McKeesport High School, was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 220 and was a legion member for more than 35 years.

He enjoyed his family, aircraft, fishing and bingo.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ann Lux Lindberg, whom he married Feb. 29, 1952; three children, Deborah Ann Lindberg of Slippery Rock, Wayne Allen Lindberg and his wife, Mariann, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Ronald Arthur Lindberg and his wife, Cindy, of West Newton; two sisters, Dorothy Inks of North Huntingdon and Ida Mae Coneybeer of Leesburg, Fla.; a brother, William "Bill" Lindberg and his wife, Lois, of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lindberg, and a sister, Ruth Lindberg.

"Jack" Lindberg, who died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. James Seeley, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
