Helen Matzko
Helen Matzko, 90, of Butler died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 19, 1918, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Samko) Pallo.
She was a 1936 graduate of Butler High School and had worked for Magnetics in East Butler in the photo-etch department for 17 years until her retirement in 1983. Prior to that, she worked for the Castle Rubber Co., also in East Butler.
She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Regis (Sue) Streitman of Butler; two grandchildren, Jennifer Havican and Brad Sokol; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jessica Havican and Ashlyn Sokol.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew "Andy" Matzko, whom she married Nov. 26, 1938. He died Jan. 29, 1995. She also was preceded by one daughter, five brothers and three sisters.
<B>MATZKO</B> — There will be no visitation. Private services for Helen Matzko, who died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, will be held for her family.
