CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The 4-H youth council will host a dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Ag Building at the Farm Show Grounds, Route 68.
The dance is open to all 4-H members, people interested in 4-H and their guests. Refreshments will be available.
Admission is $2 and a donation of a cat or dog related care item to donate to a local shelter.
BUTLER TWP — Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., will host a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
KARNS CITY — APre-Mother's Day Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Karns City High School, Route 268.For information, call 724-445-2277. The event benefits the Karns City High School cheerleaders.
CENTER TWP — The Ladies Auxiliary of the Unionville Fire Department will host a craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall, Route 8 and Mahood Road.Admission is free and food will be available. The event will include a Chinese auction and bake sale.
PENN TWP — The Butler AM Rotary Club will host its annual Charity Open golf tournament Sunday at Conley Resort, 740 Pittsburgh Road.Registration for the four-man scramble will begin at 10 a.m., a putting contest will start at 11 a.m. and the tournament will begin at noon with a shotgun start.Cost is $95 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, a buffet dinner and prizes.
NORTH WASHINGTON — North Washington Presbyterian Church will host an all-day scrapbooking event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church, Fairview Road.Admission is $5 and participants should take their own lunch and drink. Proceeds benefit the North Washington Presbyterian Church improvement fund.Scrapbook supplies will be available for purchase. Reservations are requested by calling 724-894-2559.
RIMERSBURG — The Eccles-Lesher Memorial Library, 673 Main St., will host the program, "Bagpipes, a Historical Perspective," at 7 p.m. Thursday.Musician and professor Paul Fehrenbach will lead the discussion on the evolution of bagpipes.The program is free and refreshments will be provided.
