BUTLER TWP — The Meridian Veterans Club will present a Veterans Day celebration at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave.

The Butler High School Junior ROTC Color Guard will be featured. The keynote speaker will be John Cyprian of Butler County Veterans Services. Special music will be provided by the church's children's choir, directed by Vicki Georgic and accompanied by organist Joyce Gillis.

WASHINGTON TWP — The North Washington Volunteer Fire Company will hold its annual ham and turkey raffle at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the North Washington Fire Department Social Hall, Oneida Valley Road.The kitchen will be open. Proceeds benefit the fire company.

SLIPPERY ROCK — A Zumba-thon will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at Slippery Rock University's Aebersold Recreation Center.The event will benefit the Susan G. The Portersville-Prospect Rotary Club will collect monetary donations for the Portersville Food Cupboard Nov. 7.Funds will be collected from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cal's Store, Route 488 at Route 19, Portersville, and at the Prospect Corner Store, Route 488 at Route 528, Prospect.

HARRISVILLE — The Harrisville Community Band presents its annual fall concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Harrisville Fire Hall, 313 E. Mercer St.The band is in its 45th season and members range in age from teenagers to senior citizens.Refreshments will be sold by the Harrisville volunteer firemen.
