FREEPORT — Freeport Kindergarten Center will hold kindergarten registration March 24 to 26.

On March 24 and 25, students with last names from A to L will register from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and students with last names from M to Z will register from 12:30 to 3 p.m. March 26 registration is by appointment.

Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. Children must attend and undergo screenings in hearing, vision and speech.

ZELIENOPLE — Passavant Retirement Community has volunteer openings in the assisted living activity departments. Volunteers are needed to lead: baking class from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month; Wii bowling from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays; bingo once a month, dates and times vary; craft class once a month, dates and times vary.Volunteers to provide residents with one-on-one visits also are welcome to apply. CENTER TWP — The Butler County Humane Society will host a rabies clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Unionville Fire Hall, Route 8 North and Mahood Road.The cost is $8 per shot. All dogs must be under control on a leash and cats must be carriers.

The Butler County Farm Bureau is collecting donations of food and money for the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh to celebrate Food Check-Out Day. Donations will be presented to Ronald McDonald House Feb. 16.Drop-off sites are Boldy's Bakery, 667 Pittsburgh Road, Butler; Rep.
