Sing Hosanna! play is a 'Dead Giveaway'

The Sing Hosanna! dinner theater comedy "Dead Giveaway" will feature, front from left, Carol Schreffler, Dale Riemer and Tabitha Kupec, and rear, Kim Gaiser, Eric Snyder and Catherine Fuellgraf. Reservations are due by Aug. 4 for the Aug. 7 show.

Butler Twp — Sing Hosanna! will have a dinner theater at noon and 5 p.m. Aug. 7 at the South Butler Fire Hall.

Members of the group will perform the show "Dead Giveaway," a whodunit comedy about the mysterious lives of five spinsters.

"It's fun staging a comedy," said Ralph Christy, the group's executive producer and director. "The audience has just loved the comedy shows."

Sing Hosanna! performs two other dinner theaters and two Broadway musicals each year.

The Aug. 7 event also will feature a buffet at the hall, which will be decorated as the show's setting: the Beryl Chartres Boarding House.

The play will star Sing Hosanna! members Catherine Fuellgraf, Dale Riemer, Kim Gaiser, Mary Cole Simms, Tabitha Kupec, Carol Schreffler and Eric Snyder.

"I like it because this is one of the few times when I get to work with a small cast," said Christy, who typically directs 70 to 80 people.

Christy said the group's mission is to "share uplifting musicals and concerts with participants and patrons."

The show is geared toward a family audience.
