Beth Ann H. Vida, 57, of Manassas, Va., passed away Monday at her home after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Beth was a loving wife and mother and a genuine friend to all who knew her. She was quick to laugh, always ready to listen and seemed to have a solution for any problem. Beth's smile and laughter brought joy to everyone she knew.

She was happiest when at home with her family, spending time with friends and working in her flower gardens.

Beth Ann worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Covington & Burling LLC for more than 35 years, and she was a member of the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Manassas.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Dick, of 32 years; her daughter, Mandy; her son, Andrew; her sister, Mariadel Kostuch; and her brother, James Hockenberger.

<B>VIDA</B> — The family of Beth Ann H. Vida, who died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center</B>, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Va. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8713 Plantation Lane, Manassas, with the Rev. Jeffrey Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.Memorial contributions may take the form of either flowers or a donation to the National Brain Tumor Society, East Coast Office, 124 Watertown St., Suite 2D, Watertown, MA 02472, or to www.braintumor.org.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, under the direction of Michael Post.
